This is an upgrade to Sciencetech's High Resolution monochromators, including the 9040, 9490, and 9150 (for both the Single and Double Pass configurations of these systems). It moves the input slit from the default position on the front of the monochromator to the side or lateral position.
Please note that this upgrade does not allow both input ports to be used, it only moves the position. If you require both input ports and the flipping mirror to select between them, please see DPIN-HI products.

This upgrade is for Sciencetech's High Resolution line of monochromators, including the 9040, 9490, and 9150 (for both the single and double pass options for those systems). It moves the output port from the front of the monochromator to the side or lateral position. This allows different orientations of the system in relation to various sample chambers or detectors, and may be required depending on the size of the detector you are using due to the close proximity and limited space between the input and output slit on the front plate.

The 9040DX is a Double Additive or Subtractive design of the half meter 9040. Special care has been taken to design the system to minimize and eliminate stray light whenever possible.
A double subtractive monochromator operates to create a monochromatic light source by the 2nd monochromator cancelling the dispersion caused by the 1st monochromator. This allows a Double Subtractive system to operate as a tunable notch filter for Raman applications. The double additive is used for improved resolution. In the 9072DA, the inbound light is dispersed by the first grating then passed through a fixed intermediate slit where stray light is rejected and then spectrally dispersed again by the second grating.

The double dispersion of the double additive monochromators results in a doubling of the dispersion of a single monochromator, leading to better optical resolution. The bandpass is half that of a single 9072 monochromator.

One SS-80 slit is included, which can be attached to either the input or output port. A second slit can be added to the order if desired.
The fixed slit is not included in the 9072DA and can be selected from any of Sciencetech's FWS-series of fixed slits and added to the order.

In the 9072DS, the grating in the second monochromator is arranged such that it reverses the spectral dispersion of the first monochromator. This leads to a spectrally homogenized beam at the output port of the second monochromator and greatly reduced stray light, ideal for spectroradiometry, Raman or UV measurements of solar radiation.
The arrangement of the 9072DS allows it to act either as a tunable bandpass filter or a tunable notch filter. Arranged as a tunable bandpass filter the bandpass of the device is determined by the width of an intermediate slit. When arranged as a tunable notch filter the width of the notch is determined by the physical width of an opaque notch placed at the intermediate slit position.
The 9072DS can also be used to pass or filter out several selected wavelengths by using a custom intermediate multi-slit mask instead of a single width intermediate slit.

One SS-80 slit is included, which can be attached to either the input or output port. A second slit can be added to the order if desired.
The fixed intermediate slit or notch filter is not included in the 9072DS and can be selected from any of Sciencetech's SF-series of fixed slits and added to the order. A custom multi-slit mask can be added to the order upon request.
Gratings and grating holders are not included. The 9072DS accommodates 30 × 30 mm gratings, with up to three gratings per turret. Two of each selected grating must be purchased to fill both monochromators. One grating holder is required for each grating.
