The Sciencetech 9030 monochromator is a compact, single grating, scanning monochromator with 100 mm focal length (both output and input). It has a manual wavelength selector dial with an optional external motor drive for computerized control. The compact design is made possible by its Seya-Namioka optical layout, using a single holographic concave grating and f/3.2 aperture. A pair of removable fixed-width slits are included for the input and output ports. Several removable fixed slit width sizes are available to choose from ranging from 100 μm to 3 mm width. Additional removable slits and custom width slits can also be purchased separately.
Mirror coatings have been chosen for this model to enhance performance in the UV-VIS region.
There are 5 grating choices (sold separately) covering from UV to near-IR; choose a UV to VIS range to pair with the UV-VIS mirror coatings on this model. (9030DS-UVVIS) - Double Subtractive 0.1 m Compact Monochromator - UV/VIS Range
The 9030DS consists of two 100 mm scanning monochromators placed in series in subtractive mode. Bandpass is determined by the width of an intermediate slit, but the 9030DS has a net output dispersion of zero because the monochromators are optically coupled so that the dispersion of the second grating cancels that of the first. This leads to homogenized wavelengths at the output port - there is no spectrum, only a single undispersed slit image - which allows the unit to act as a tunable bandpass or notch filter.
Stray light of all sorts is drastically reduced in a double monochromator, and in the 9030DS it is further minimized by the use of concave holographic gratings. It is ideal for applications where stray light is a problem - where there may be a strong scattered background, such as in spectroradiometry, Raman or UV measurements of solar radiation.
The 9030DS can be used as a tunable notch filter to remove one particular wavelength while allowing all others over the bandpass to pass through, making it an ideal instrument to pre-filter out the strong laser excitation wavelength in a Fluorescence or Raman system so that the weaker output signals can be observed.
The 9030DS is a fully integrated unit with the two diffraction gratings coupled mechanically for accurate positioning, adjusted manually using a thumb-wheel. A variety of fixed slit widths is available. It can be upgraded to be motorized and controlled by a computer with the 9030 Motorized Upgrade. Only one motor and drive unit is required for both monochromators, enabling control via Sciencetech Sci-Mono Active-X library or full featured Sci-Spec software.
The Model 9030DS can also be used to pass or filter out several selected wavelengths by using a custom intermediate multi-slit mask instead of a single width intermediate slit. 9072S - 1/8 m (125 mm) Computer Controlled Monochromator/Spectrograph with USB
9072S is a small 1/8m scanning monochromator. The 9072S uses plane gratings 30mm x 30mm in size and utilizes a Czerny Turner optical configuration. The 9072S is designed to be used with single channel detectors or connected to another 9072S to form a double additive or subtractive system. The base 9072S system has a triple grating turret which is computer controlled. 4-grating turret is optional.
Gratings and Grating Holders (120-8512) are sold separately.
The 9072S is compatible with SS80 and SS84 adjustable slits and SS-F fixed slits. Comes with the adjustable slit.
It includes Sci-mono software for basic wavelength control. Our fully-featured spectroscopy package, SciSpec, is sold separately.

This monochromator supports up to three 50x50mm gratings on a computer controlled turret. It includes a single input slit by default; please select appropriate output mounting (slit, detector or CCD mounting, etc...) when ordering.
A fast version of the 9057, the 9057F, operates with 64x64mm gratings and offers better throughput with the same optical pathlength. Please discuss with your Sciencetech technical sales staff member to find if the 9057F is a better choice for your particular application.

The Sciencetech 9055 is a 250mm asymmetric focal length modified Czerny-Turner monochromator. It has a flat field output for use as a spectrograph. This model has an f/3.5 aperture (for the "Fast" version with f/2.5, please see the 9055F). It has a computer-controlled interchangeable turret for automatic grating and wavelength selection.
Both the input and output ports are located on the front faceplate of the monochromator, and the system includes one SS80 slit at the input port. CE compliant.
It Includes a Sci-Mono, a Windows based software module with a simple graphical user interface for controlling Sciencetech stepping monochromator wavelength selection. SciMono is provided free of charge with a Sciencetech motorized monochromator when SciSpec software has not been purchased.

9057F - Computer controlled 1/2m Monochromator, Fast Version
The Sciencetech 9057F is a fast half meter motorized Czerny-Turner monochromator (and spectrograph) with an f/5.9 aperture. This is a "faster" model with larger optics for higher light throughput compared to the standard 9057 with f/8 aperture. Both models utilize a computer controlled motorized turret for automatic grating and wavelength selection. The regular 9057 model supports up to three 50 x 50mm gratings whereas the larger optics 9057F model supports up to two 64 x 64mm (clear aperture) gratings.

The Sciencetech 9057F is a fast half meter motorized Czerny-Turner monochromator (and spectrograph) with an f/5.9 aperture. This is a "faster" model with larger optics for higher light throughput compared to the standard 9057 with f/8 aperture. Both models utilize a computer controlled motorized turret for automatic grating and wavelength selection. The regular 9057 model supports up to three 50 x 50mm gratings whereas the larger optics 9057F model supports up to two 64 x 64mm (clear aperture) gratings.

In the 9072DS, the grating in the second monochromator is arranged such that it reverses the spectral dispersion of the first monochromator. This leads to a spectrally homogenized beam at the output port of the second monochromator and greatly reduced stray light, ideal for spectroradiometry, Raman or UV measurements of solar radiation.
The arrangement of the 9072DS allows it to act either as a tunable bandpass filter or a tunable notch filter. Arranged as a tunable bandpass filter the bandpass of the device is determined by the width of an intermediate slit. When arranged as a tunable notch filter the width of the notch is determined by the physical width of an opaque notch placed at the intermediate slit position.
The 9072DS can also be used to pass or filter out several selected wavelengths by using a custom intermediate multi-slit mask instead of a single width intermediate slit.
One SS-80 slit is included, which can be attached to either the input or output port. A second slit can be added to the order if desired.

9055-DX is a motorized double 1/4m monochromator that can be configured as additive or subtractive. Double monochromators have the advantage of extremely low stray light levels by virtue of using two gratings. An intermediate slit between the two units, used to define the wavelengths that pass to the second unit, also masks off light scattered within the body of the first unit. In double additive operation the 9055DX effective focal length (1/2m), dispersion and resolution (1.7nm/mm and .09nm with a 1200 l/mm grating) are doubled compared to a single unit, making this mode useful where high resolution is important. In double subtractive operation there is no dispersion in the output beam and only a single slit image appears at the output instead of a broad spread of spectral images. This allows the system to operate as a tunable bandpass or notch filter.
This system includes two manual slits (one input and one intermediate). Motorized upgrades and additional slits may be purchased separately.
