Every time the illumination target size of a Fully Reflective Solar Simulator changes, the reflective mirrors inside the solar simulator that direct the light from the source to the target need to be refocused. Although this can be performed manually, the procedure is a hassle should the user need to change the target spot size frequently. The solar simulator would need to be shut down and have each internal mirror re-adjusted to support a different focal spot size. With this variable focus option re-adjusting the internal mirrors of the solar simulator is performed through a single knob without having to shutdown the solar simulator. This feature can also be used to vary illumination intensity by spreading the light over a larger area or concentrating the light into a smaller area.

The Solar Reference Cell consist of a 20 x 20 mm monocrystalline silicon Photovoltaic Cell encased in a 92 x 70 x 16 mm metal enclosure with a protective quartz window and a temperature sensor.
The temperature sensor is a 100 ohm platinum Resistance Temperature Detector (RTD).

The Solar Reference Cells come with an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited certificate of calibration and compatible set of connecting cables.
The certificate includes:
Isc, Imax, Voc, Vmax, Pmax, Spectral Correction, Fill Factor, Area and Efficiency.
Measurements are made in accordance with ASTM E948 and E1021, traceable to NIST and NREL.

Note - the SC-LT-Q will be replaced with SOL-REF-Q-E devices when all SC-LT-Q products are depleted. These products are functionally the same but have different cable interfaces at the device. Sciencetech manufactures grid polarizing beam-splitters for use in the far-infrared and terahertz spectral regions. These beamsplitters divide the incoming beam according to its polarization. The beam-splitter consist of very fine parallel aluminum lines spaced 4 µm apart on a thin mylar substrate. It has the widest spectral range with a higher frequency cut-off than that of other polarizers that work in the near-millimeter wavelength range.
This particular model is 3" (7.5cm) diameter, and is the middle size of the IR beam-splitter polarizer Sciencetech offers. For larger or smaller sizes, or for a full list of technical specifications, please speak with your authorized Sciencetech technical sales staff member.

The SS-84-M is a High Resolution motorized adjustable slit for the input or output port of a Sciencetech monochromator. The slit width can be adjusted between 0-6mm using the computer controlled actuator.
