AM0 simulates the solar spectrum just outside Earth’s atmosphere, where there is very little atmosphere-related absorption of solar radiation. This is generally used for space applications.

An AM1.5D filter compatible with Sciencetech solar simulators, including FT-style filter holder. Filter clear aperture is a diameter of 76 mm (3"). Please select the product line the filter is intended to be used with to ensure the proper spectral output.

AM1.5D simulates the terrestrial solar spectrum on the ground when the sun is at a zenith angle of 48.2°. It includes only direct light from the sun, and not the diffuse light that is scattered by the atmosphere. As a result, this filter simulates the direct radiation which reaches the ground.

Please note that for some simulator models the same filter is used to supply an AM1.5G spectral match. Purchasing separate AM1.5G and AM1.5D filters for the same model simulator may not provide a different spectrum.

If the filter is not intended to be used with a Sciencetech solar simulator, the product line "None" may be selected, but the spectral output cannot be guaranteed when paired with a non-Sciencetech source.
