Sciencetech, Inc. has an opening for an Optical System Test Technician. This is a permanent, full-time position. We are seeking someone with hands-on experience with optomechanical and electrical systems to join our manufacturing test team at our London Ontario plant. Some experience in manufacturing is a plus, but not required. A real desire to work in manufacturing is required.
• Integrating optical components to achieve required system performance
• Aligning and testing standard products
• Interpreting and reading optical designs
• Performing data analysis and reporting of measurement results
• Inspecting optical components for quality
• Supporting manufacturing for continuous design improvements
• Prototyping and testing custom products
• Providing in-house and on-site customer support, including training and troubleshooting
• Creating and maintaining test instructions and product user manuals
• A BS/BA in Engineering / Physics / Math or College diploma with demonstrated equivalent experience
• A good understanding of optical and electrical measurement techniques
• The ability to read optical, mechanical, and electrical assembly drawings
• The ability to use basic hand tools
• The ability to create scripts for data analysis in MATLAB
• To be responsible, team-oriented, and process aware
• Detail orientation and strong focus while working
• Excellent teamwork and collaboration capabilities in addition to effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• The ability to travel outside of North America for occasional support visits as required
• The ability to lift objects up to 25kg
• The ability to use Microsoft application (Word, Excel) software on Windows computers
Minimum one year of manufacturing or laboratory experience assembling, aligning, and/or using optical systems.
