JUNIOR TEST ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN

Sciencetech Inc. is a wholly owned Canadian corporation that develops and manufactures instrumentation in the fields of optics, electro-optics and opto-mechanics for medical, industrial and scientific purposes.  Our main area of work is in Optical Spectroscopy, Photovoltaic and Solar Simulation. (UV-VIS-NIR).  The company has been designing and manufacturing these instruments in Canada since 1985, and provides them to customers worldwide.

We have an opening for a Junior Test Engineering Technician. This is a permanent, full-time position. We are seeking someone with hands-on experience with electrical, mechanical and/or optical systems to join our manufacturing test team at our London, Ontario plant. Some experience in manufacturing is a plus, but not required. A real desire to work in manufacturing is required.

The suitable candidate must be able to:

• Read mechanical assembly drawings

• Read electrical assembly drawings

• Read and follow work instructions

• Use basic hand tools

• Lift objects up to 25k g

• Use Microsoft application (Word, Excel) software on Windows computers

Additionally, the following are desirable:

• Some design knowledge – electrical, mechanical, and/or optical

• Some knowledge of general physics and optics. 

The candidate should to be flexible and able to multi-task in a medium size company environment.
