This Broadband Thermopile Detector allows the measurement of total broadband radiation emitted by a light source. It could also be used to measure the light power density on a surface (in W/cm2) which is particularly useful for uniformity measurements and for checking solar simulator performance. This detector has a 19mm diameter sensor and picks up all wavelengths between 190-11μm (UV-VIS-IR). Please note that this detector head requires either an external display controller or computer interface (sold separately - see below) to show the measured power. The price shown includes the detector head, post, post holder, and base only.

This thermopile is recommended for high-powered light sources (such as focused 500W + arc lamps) and concetrator solar simulators (5 Suns +, 500 mW/cm2).

The most powerful TeraHertz FTIR available in the mid and far IR Range, the SPS-300 is our second generation Martin-Puplett/Michelson Interferometer designed and built at Sciencetech's own facilities in London, Canada. With a wide variety of optional upgrades and components to suit any research application, the SPS-300 has been successfully used in Material Research, Biomedical, Medical, Astronomy, Aerospace, Superconductivity, Security, Defense and a wide range of other fields by distinguished customers including the European Space Agency (ESA), the National Aeronautics and Space Agency (NASA), the Max Planck Institute, the Argonne National Labs, The Canadian National Research Council, the Brookhaven National Lab, L'Institute d'Astrophysique Spatiale, Lawrence Berkeley National Lab, and many universities the world over.

The instrument is designed for research applications and therefore features special hardware and software designed to allow the use of samples under many different research environments (High Vacuum, High & Low Temperature, High & low Pressures, High Magnetic fields, etc...) and conduct sensitive and fast "Rapid Scans" with the mirror moving continuously as the detector collects data. Sciencetech also supports the researchers with the design and manufacturing of custom made coupling devices and sophisticated sample chambers to meet specific needs.

Please contact your authorized Sciencetech technical sales representative to discuss how we can build a FTIR designed for your technical specifications.

This sample chamber has one input port and two output ports. One of the output ports is 90° relative to the input port, allowing it to be used in fluorescence-type applications. The other output port is directly across from the input port, allowing it to be used for transmission measurements/applications. The lid of the sample chamber can be removed, exposing the built-in cuvette holder inside. This cuvette holder holds 10 × 10mm cuvettes. Optionally, the cuvette holder can be upgraded to a thin film holder capable of mounting 20 × 20mm samples. We recommend talking with one of Sciencetech's technical sales staff to determine if the thin film holder will be sufficient for your particular application. The sample chamber dimensions are 205 × 128 × 154mm (8"× 5"× 6").

Please note that this sample chamber does not include any built-in optics for focusing and defocusing light onto the sample, as the light beam through the chamber is anticipated to be collimated. Such focusing and defocusing optics are part of the optical coupling tubes that connect the sample chamber to various external components, such as to a light source or monochromator.

Sciencetech manufactures grid polarizing beam-splitters for use in the far-infrared and terahertz spectral regions. These beamsplitters divide the incoming beam according to its polarization. The beam-splitter consist of very fine parallel aluminum lines spaced 4 µm apart on a thin mylar substrate. It has the widest spectral range with a higher frequency cut-off than that of other polarizers that work in the near-millimeter wavelength range.
This particular model is 5" (12.5cm) diameter, and is the largest standard size of the IR beam-splitter polarizer Sciencetech offers. For larger or smaller sizes, or for a full list of technical specifications, please speak with your authorized Sciencetech technical sales staff member.

An arc lamp is not designed to be frequently turned off and on and doing so will dramatically lower its service life. In addition, each time it is turned on it requires the power supply to ignite it with a 20,000V+ spark. THe best option for performing exposure testing is to integrate an electronic shutter system inside the beam homogenizer. The electronic shutter is computer controlled with an activation time of <150ms. Software for the shutter controller is included with this item. The standard shutter controller connects to a computer via RS232. RS232-USB converters are available and work with this product. In addition to computer control the shutter can be controlled via a toggle switch on the shutter controller box.

This shutter can be used with any high powered light source and can effectivley block a 5" diameter beam. See the brochure information for a mounting pattern.

This device can be controllable through Sciencetech's new line of Touch Screen power supplies (including automated explosure time control).
Please note leaving the shutter closed for exteremly long periods of time while the arc lamp is on may cause damage to the motorized components.
